A Fungus Among Us
There are a few truths in life that can be depended on. Truths that have been gleaned from years of scientific investigation as well as experience. For example, "water runs downhill," "you should buy low, sell high," and one of my favorites, "there are no free lunches." However, today we were again reminded of an oldie but a goodie..."when you have very little natural immunity, bad things happen." Case in point: Paul came home yesterday feeling good, but soon it became apparent that ear pain, and very intense ear pain, was once again an issue. After a not-very-restful night, we made the decision to track down Waco's most famous and best ENT, Dr. Andy, and get Paul in to sort it all out. So, this afternoon, Dr. Andy gently suctioned out enough black fungus from Paul's ear to clog the machine. It was an outer ear infection. While the highdose antibiotics took care of the inner ear infection (bacterial), the drops along with the suppressed immunity created a nice medium for nature's little science project...fungus. Dr. Andy cleaned his ear out, put in some anti-fungal cream and sent him on his way. Now, he is outside jumping on the trampoline, playing baseball, riding his bike...you get the picture. Now we ready for a great weekend!!!

I just read about New York. My, how God works. We only have to listen as a child. May God continue to bless your family. You are a blessing to me. Nancy Lewis - Dowelltown, TN
