We had a reunion weekend with our friends from college BU days down at the Hale Ranch in S. Tx this weekend. Lots of R-N-R, eating, fishing, sitting around and catching up. Check out the pic below of the horned frog. (-:

Gerald Saxon: Jan 25, 1938-April 29, 2012

Many of you already know that my Dad passed away Sunday after a long time in declining health. This is one of my favorite photos of him taken when Jack was a year and half or so old. We are in E TX with my mom this week and there are many old friends and family joining us to celebrate his life. We are sure going to miss you Dad!

Alamo Bowl

Leigh gave me tickets to the Alamo Bowl this Christmas. It was my first bowl game, and it was incredible. Jack and I had a great time watching RG3 and the Bears beat Washington. It was a close game with many lead changes.

School starts tomorrow for Jack (8th grade) and Whit (3rd grade), and we wouldn't want their hair to interfere with their learning. (-:

July 14 #4

We spent the last week in Missouri visiting family and friends. Jack took the photo above from the back porch of Leigh's parent's house in Missouri. We have lots of photos of the boys on that porch overlooking a valley in the Ozarks. This one is Jack and Paul probably taken five years ago. Click on it to get an upclose look.

Thanks to all of you who still check this blog that I never update except for important or random occasions. We spent July 14, the 4-year anniversary of Paul's passing, on Table Rock lake with friends doing things Paul would have loved - swimming, boating, learning to wakeboard, jet-skiing, and staying up late.

Today, Paul would be celebrating turning 10 years old. It's hard to understand that he has been gone now for more than three years. In our dreams, he is here with us and anxiously looking forward to his huge birthday party with plenty of Dr. Pepper, a NASCAR cake and lots of presents to open. We miss you Paulie!

Dads' Reunion

When Paul was alive, we got to know other families through ListServs, blogs and email. After Paul died I maintained a friendship with some of these dads who had also lost their child to neuroblastoma. Last week, we got together for the second time. The first time we dads met in Abaco, Bahamas; this time it was the Big Apple. Enjoy the slide show below. (-:

NYC Renunion

Whit is 8!

Whit's birthday began with chocolate donuts in bed. He had an "early release" day at school so he got to pick a lunch place with mom and dad, and then he went to play golf with Leigh (a local benefit tournament). Then, he somehow had enough energy left to play in his first soccer game this evening. His party is this weekend so the celebration goes on.
