A New York State of Mind

Paul with Doug Kalitta, the current Top Fuel car (those long skinny ones) points leader.

Other than packing more clothes (and warmer) and dealing with the logistics of both of us doing single parenting for a longer duration (12 days!), there really isn't a lot that will change these next two weeks compared to the last two trips. However, from a cognitive standpoint, there is a great deal of uncertainty with which we must cope. For example, how will Paul respond? Will he have a lot of pain? Will we be able to effectively treat the pain? How homesick will we all become? Will Leigh and Paul start sounding like the Castanzas? How long can Leigh go without chips and salsa and living mostly on McDonald's fast food? All thought provoking questions. Nevertheless, plans are in place, and after a fun weekend we'll have to get serious about this NYC thing. Pray for God's hand to make our path as smooth as possible.
