No Fear

Check out my diploma...dude.

It's hard for me to have to be the mature one all the time.

Paul has no fear. We were discharged around 2pm yesterday, and after Leigh, Jack, and Whit joined us, we were at Six Flags by 2:30pm. Paul was feeling pretty well, and claimed he was ready to ride roller coasters. He rode other rides, but he loves the roller coaster. The first one he rode is a fairly traditional, fast one. The second one scares even me. It's called the Shock Wave and has a double loop. He barely made the height requirement. I strapped him in and off we went. He LOVED it even though the G-force from going upside down pinned him to the seat. He was very proud of himself. I know many adults that would never get on this ride, but Paul...he doesn't seem to be afraid one bit. It's wonderful to get to watch him experience some thrilling things in his life.

Needless to say, we got home late. Paul was up thinking about eating cereal when I left for work. We are hoping that these home meds will continue to fight the fungal infection and that we can use our "temporary" line for a good while.

Thanks to all of you who have prayed so much for us these days. Many of you have sent food cards, Legos, and other gifts that cheer us up. We are gracious for you all. (-:

Paul has proved his courage in many ways, but the Shock Wave is a biggie. My grown sons won't ride that! Happy days to all of you. lk

Paul is looking for a thrill when he rides the Shock Wave. Nana has never been brave enough to think about riding it. N

Given his love of NASCAR it's not too surprising that he loves roller coasters...speed and excitement! I remember riding the Shock Wave when I worked at Six Flags way back when. He's a brave boy in so many ways. We're glad he's feeling better. Have a great week at HOME!!!
