3F8 Day 1: Part II
The drug didn't actually start running until early afternoon since there was a lot of stuff to do on the first day. It didn't take long for pain to emerge, and when it did Dilaudid was given which took care of the worst. In fact, it put Paul into a very sleepy state, and he ended up sleeping for the remaining afternoon. Leigh was told that more pain would come later, and when it did she gave him some oral Dilaudid. So, this is the major prayer request: pain management.
Tomorrow they'll get an earlier start so he may feel better earlier and get out some. All-in-all, it sounds like Paul had a relatively good first day of treatment on drugs he's never had before. We are thankful for that!
