Mystery Continues

After Paul had such a great day on Halloween we thought we were closing in on the end of this ordeal. Not to be. He awoke grumpy yesterday and was back to feeling crummy for the rest of the day. I took him to FW for his MIBG isotope injection. That went fine, but he was in no mood to do anything. Later in the day he ran a low grade fever which Tylenol helped a lot, but that nausea is just plaguing him. Today may hold more of the same. He awoke better, but still has nausea. Leigh will be taking Paul to FW today for the MIBG scan, but from comments of our docs, I don't think they expect to find too much that will shed light on all this nausea. If that turns out to be the case, I think we are ready to become more aggressive at figuring it out. This could mean a GI consult or some other specialist. In the end it could simply be that this high-dose 3F8 has simply done very bad things to his body, and it may take a long time to recover. Please pray for all these things.

Grasping at straws here...have you tried yogurt or acidophilus capsules? When my kids were little and had to take antibiotics, sometimes it killed off all the natural "good" flora in their stomachs as well, resulting in nausea, stomach cramps, etc. A few days of active yogurt cultures sometimes helped. Of course, I have no idea what's in Paul's 3F8 stuff, but hoped it might me an idea?
