How to cope when God gives you more than you can bear (from the Apostle Paul)
For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life; indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves in order that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead; who delivered us from so great a peril of death and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us, you also joining in helping us through your prayers, that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed up on us through the prayers of many.

This post and the letter reminded me of what I heard in church this morning....praying for your comfort tonight...
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persectuion or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: 'For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.' No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Rom 8:35-39)
Praying that the love of God will bind your hearts as you face Paul's death daily! These promises that you are not separated from Christ also mean that you are not separated from Paul, either.
Thank you for sharing this word from the Lord. Yes - contrary to what many state - God DOES give us more than we can bear . . . SO THAT we will lean, rely, depend, find our strength ONLY in Him. Praying for you as you lean . . . so grateful for your transparency . . . God is using you to show the rest of us how to walk this way.
