Slightly Better
Paul slept fairly well last night, and was very hungry when he awoke. He wanted McDonald's pancakes of course. He had three! Later, he asked Leigh if they could go back for dinner. This afternoon like yesterday, he is sleeping off the narcotic pain killer. The infusion this morning went well, and Leigh said that he didn't appear to experience much if any pain since he fell asleep so quickly. Hives are the other annoying side effect of this treatment which makes sense if you consider that this therapy is about supercharging your immune system to kill cancer cells; hives represent the body's attempt to mount a defense (e.g., histamines). Paul is getting antihistamines to deal with hives, and so far it's worked fairly quickly. We appreciate your prayers against side effects and pain.

Praying for you today Paul! You are loved by many and we will continue to lift you up during this time. ~The Reeds
Thanks so much for the updates! It helps us know specifically what to pray for. I hope you'll find during your time apart what we've learned, in part, through this blog--love works just fine long-distance, and prayer is the best thing for maintaining closeness.
