No PICC Line

For some reason the PICC line would not insert. After trying for a couple of hours, neither arm would cooperate. No one really knows why. Could be scar tissue in the vein, a bend in the vein, a vein that is too small or any number of other things; but the bad part is that it messes up getting discharged today. HomeHealth cannot do the kinds of meds he needs this week with a regular IV at home. So, there may still be hope, but we'll have to wait until our doc chats with some colleagues about alternative temporary line possibilities. We're all disappointed.
