Hopefully we can all do more of this in 2009.

We have lots of wonderful, delicate ornaments on the tree this year, but this one is my favorite. I lobbied to decorate the whole tree in nothing but NASCAR (except for the 18 car), but that didn't fly. I have to confess that we are not as filled with the Christmas spirit as in years' past; however, we did take some steps forward this year compared to last. We decorated a tree, put up Christmas things throughout the house, watched holiday movie favorites and even hosted a Christmas party. But, it's hard to celebrate and focus on the birth of one child while the absence of your own is constantly put before you. Still, we do these things now recalling how Paul enjoyed them. Paul really got into tree decorating. He loved unwrapping the ornaments as if they were little presents. I can't recall now who gave us this ornament, but thank you. It brought a smile to all our faces knowing how Paul would have loved unwrapping it and finding just the right spot on the tree.
