Happy 6th Birthday Whit!

5+1=6
After answering the question, "When will I be six?" hundreds of times over the last 9 months, the answer this morning was finally..."Today!"

The celebration line-up...Mcdonald's and doughnuts delivered to school for lunch, kids' pizza and games place for dinner, and then the big finale this weekend..."par-tay" at a local inflatables jumping place. Sweet! (-:

Speed and Thunder

Jack and I drove up to the Texas Motorplex in Dallas today for the Fall National Drag Races. We took care of our explosive speed and thunder addiction for awhile...at least until NASCAR returns in November. (-:

Cardio Boy

Most of you longterm trollers out there will recall that Whit was born with some heart issues. He had a heart repair when he was about 8 months old. He has a cardio checkup once a year. Today was the day. He's now old enough to know what's going on. He has a EKG (with the little sticky electrodes placed on his chest) and a heart echo (like an ultrasound). Anyhow, there were a few tears due to anxiety, but he got it together pretty well throughout. All is quite well, and Leigh got the usual speech from the cardiologist about someday Whit needing some pulmonary valve work in his late teens, etc. (hopefully via heart cath by then). So, Whit gets the good report today. While we are talking Whit...he is thoroughly enjoying kindergarten (especially lunch), gymnastics, and is still getting in some speech/reading therapy twice a week at BU. As for our 5th grader, he is "giving-his-parents-information-about-school" challenged, but is a rock god on Guitar Hero.

P.S. more skydive slideshow pics are on the way.
