Since my last post (which seems like last week in my head) we have enjoyed the rest of the summer. We traveled to grandparents, visited friends in Missouri, spent several days at Great Wolf Lodge (awesome water park), had a "Ranch reunion" with college friends, did Six Flags and various other swimming and park adventures. We crammed as much as we could in there.
Jack and Whit started school last week, and both seem to be enjoying it so far (as much as boys who like being home enjoy school, I guess). It was sad to send those two off to school while missing Paulie. Like Leigh posted on her blog, you carry around an "I wonder..." sort of attitude at times like these.
I just returned from a work trip in Jamaica that will wrap up a year long study myself and a colleague are doing there with the youth of that country. Leigh is busy with her clinic work these days. In short, we are all resuming normal fall duties. Except...
Jack came home with a fever yesterday, and the doc confirmed the flu today. So, we are all taking our Tamiflu now hoping the H1N1 plague will spare the rest of us. It appears that many children in our public schools here are out as well. We'll probably all get it; as I write this, Leigh is feeling tired and achey (!!). Whit has his yearly cardiology work-up this week.
That's pretty much the update and summary. Hope the fall is off to a good start for you all, and you can avoid the flu!
