Green

Like mine, Paul's favorite color was green. I found these photos of Paul with a "green face" while looking through some old photos the other day. These photos were taken by a friend of mine (on his cell phone) when the three of us were eating a snack in the food court at Union Station in Washington D.C. That was a great trip, and seeing these photos brought back some fun memories for me.

Inaugural Six Flags visit of 2008

UPDATE (April 22, 2008):Leigh officially enters the Blogosphere with her new Blog:The Older I Get the Less I Care. Check it out, and I will soon place a link on the sidebar. I'm sure you'll want to bookmark it. (-:
********************************************************
This weekend we made our first family visit to Six Flags of 2008. We had a wonderful time enjoying the great weather and low crowds. It's always lots of fun to go to Six Flags, and we have a ton of great memories of going there with Paul. Going helps us keep those memories, and we recalled many "Paul moments" while we were there. Before we went we had to reactivate our season passes. About a month ago Six Flags sent us our 5 ID cards from last year; all we had to do was log onto the website, pay, and then we were good to go. The hard part...Paul's card was included with his sweet little bald-headed smiling face from last year's photo. That was hard enough, but then we logged on, we had to delete his and pay for the other four. That made us really sad. Sometimes you just can't see these hard moments until they are on top of you.

Weekend at the track

UPDATE 10:55pm: Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!! Yeah!!!!

OK. So what if Jeff Gordon finished dead last for only the second time in his entire career? We still had an awesome time at Texas MotorSpeedway this weekend.

P.S. If you look closely in the bottom photo you can see winner Carl Edwards in mid-backflip above his 99 car; this is his trademark move after winning a race.

Newly discovered photos

Our friend Jen recently uncovered these pictures from a church choir performance where Paul was pictured with her own daughter, Claire (in the pinkish dress). I'll never forget Paul's super-soft-post-chemo hair; wish I could feel it now. (-: Thanks Jen!!!
P.S. We speculate that in the last photo, Paul may have spotted a little something that dropped from the offering plate.
