Return to Paradise

I have a good excuse for not posting this past week: Leigh and I just returned from a 5-day stay in Eleuthra, Bahamas. Leigh's folks came down from MO to spend the week with the boys. We rented a beach house and lived like the locals. Our bodies had just adjusted to "island time" when it was time to come home. Yes, we are both tan, relaxed and well rested...mon. (-:

For those of you who live in a frozen wasteland (i.e., outside of TX) we have enjoyed a mild winter and spring is showing itself already. I was sitting in my office yesterday watching all the college students enjoy the nice weather, and like just about everything else, it made me sad - the thought of starting spring without Paul. There is so much to plan this time of year: Spring Break, family vacations, trips to Six Flags, snow cones after dinner, trips to see grandparents... These are all things that bring Paul's face back to my mind as clear as those big blue eyes. I'm thankful for these memories.

Pepper

One of the things we had to postpone due to treatment, etc. was getting a dog. Jack and Whit have been asking for a dog for a while now, and we finally ran out of excuses this past weekend. Leigh's friend, Lisa, knew of a dog that was needing a home so we drove to Houston and picked him up. Pepper is a 3-year-old miniature schnauzer with a great personality. We may have to change his name to Houdini if we can't figure out how he continues to escape his zipped crate every day. (-:

Better than gold

Every now and again someone finds and sends us some photos of Paul that we have never seen. Madalyn's mom sent several of Madalyn and Paul from a couple of years ago. We love it!
